Chlorphenamine, also known as chlorpheniramine, is a first-generation H1 receptor antagonist. Its IUPAC name is (ยฑ)-2-phenyl-2-(1-piperidinylmethyl)propane-1-ol, with molecular formula C16H19ClN2 and molecular weight 274.78 g/mol. Classified as a piperidine derivative, it features a piperidine ring connected to a phenethylamine backbone. Therapeutically, it treats allergic reactions, urticaria, and pruritus.
