Dronedarone, IUPAC name 2-[[4-(2,3-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-piperazinyl]methyl]-4-methoxyphenol, is a benzofuran derivative with molecular formula C18H20N2O4 (molecular weight 328.36 g/mol). Structurally, it features a piperazine ring linked to a methoxyphenyl group and a benzofuran core. Therapeutically, it is used for managing atrial fibrillation and flutter. It is a white to off-white solid, sparingly soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents.
